Established in the 16th Century, The Marton Arms is a grade II listed traditional coaching Inn located in the peaceful hamlet of Thornton in Lonsdale which is set within the beautiful landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, just a short walk from Ingleton village.
Inside you will find a warm welcome, traditional cask ales and fine wines, with roaring log fires and cosy guest bedrooms as well as delicious seasonal British cooking with an emphasis on field to fork local produce. We even keep our own bees who produce the most amazing natural raw honey.
In the summer months, the log fires give way to our picturesque beer garden and relaxed courtyard dining, both overlooking the charming Norman Church of St Oswald’s where Sherlock Holmes author, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, was married in 1885 followed by his wedding reception…at the Marton Arms of course!
Explore some of ‘God’s own Country’s finest highlights with the spectacular Ingleton Waterfalls Trail and all 2,700 feet of the Yorkshire Three Peaks accessible on foot directly from our front door.
With the Lake District National Park and Trough of Bowland only a short drive away The Marton Arms really is the perfect base from which to explore the Lakes and Dales or simply enjoy a few nights peaceful relaxation with some fine hospitality and beautiful scenery.
