What’s On

We’ve lots going on in the Ingleton area with something to interest you throughout the year. Main annual events include

 1940’s Weekend, Overground Underground Festival, Ingleton Gala & Mountain Race and Sheafstock. Ingleton also hosts its very own cycle sportive, Escape to the Dales.

Overground Underground Event – Moving Landscapes Daytime Workshops (Music, Movement and Dance in the Landscape, with Quarry Arts) @ Meet at The i-Centre
Jun 1 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Participants will make up music using rock instruments and create movement sequences which will be developed into a dance about quarrying and the quarried landscape.
Weather permitting the participants will start in the Hall at the icentre and walk to Storrs Common for the rest of the day. If the weather is bad we will stay in the icentre.
No music or dance experience is necessary, just a willingness to be experimental and creative in music and movement.
Dates: Thursday 1st June and Thursday 24th August 2017
Time: 10.00am – 4.00pm
Where: Meet in the Hall at the icentre, Backgate, Ingleton, LA6 3HL Cost: £20 (age 8-18) £40 (age 18+) Discount available for multiple bookings and families. Please ask. Age: 8+
Access: Unsuitable for wheelchairs and buggies

Overground Underground Event – Settle’s Hinterland @ Meet at Settle Tourist Info Centre

Settle’s Hinterland –
A Waterfall, Caves, Erratics, and a Nature Reserve

A 61⁄2 mile (91⁄2 km) walk exploring the high ground above Settle and Langcliffe. Hear about Langcliffe’s violent past. Visit Catrigg Force and Samson’s Toe and learn about the forces which have shaped the landscape. The walk includes Winskill Stones Nature Reserve and Victoria Cave.

Dates: Sunday 9th July 2017 Time: 11.00am – 4.00pm Where: Meet at Settle Tourist Information Centre, Town Hall, Settle, BD24 9EJ

Cost: £5 per adult. Free for age 16 and under
Age: All ages
Access: Unsuitable for wheelchairs and buggies

Special instructions: 61⁄2 miles (91⁄2 km). From Settle to Langcliffe, then to Lower Winskill, Catrigg Force, Victoria Cave and return to Settle. There is one steep ascent to Winskill. Sorry, no dogs.
