Overground Underground Festival – Scything Workshop @ Broadrake
Jul 15 @ 9:45 am – 4:30 pm
Overground Underground Festival - Scything Workshop @ Broadrake | Chapel-le-Dale | England | United Kingdom

Tutor Steve Tomlin has 10 years of mowing experience and has been teaching for the past 5 years.Courses are very popular with those who wish to learn this satisfying skill as a peaceful alternative to the noisy strimmer. The scythe will cut weeds, brambles, rushes, small scrub and grass and works in small spaces, around trees and on slopes. Mowing is a gentle non-impact exercise suitable for all ages.

We held an excellent scything workshop in July 2015 as part of the Yorkshire Dales Millenium Trust Flowers of the Dales Festival 2015 where students learnt how to use the Austrian Scythe. They practised in the field behind Broadrake beneath the slopes of Whernside with views of Ingleborough & Ribblehead Viaduct.
