Events by Date Order
A walk alongside the Ribble with its relics of its industrial past. We will visit Langcliffe, a quiet village with a violent past. We will conclude the walk with a visit to the site of the Craven Limeworks with its Hoffmann Kiln where quicklime was produced on an industrial scale.
Dates: Sunday 15th July 2017 and Saturday 12th August 2017
Time: 1:00pm – 4.30pm
Where: Meet at Knight Stainforth Caravan and Camping Site, Little Stainforth, Settle, BD24 0DP. Cost: £5 per adult, under 16s free Age: All ages
Access: Unsuitable for wheelchairs and buggies
Booking: Contact Malham National Park Centre 01729 833200 malham@yorkshiredales.org.uk or just turn up. 20 places available. Special instructions: A relatively at 41⁄2 mile (7km) walk from Little Stainforth, along riverside paths to Langcliffe Mill, Langcliffe Village and the Craven Limeworks. Some stiles on the way, but conditions underfoot mostly good. Sorry, no dogs.
