Learn to become more proficient with your DSLR or Bridge Cameras. Start in the barn with an introductory talk and coffee followed by local walks to put the theory into practise. Please wear suitable clothing for inclement weather and sturdy footwear suitable for uneven terrain, and bring a packed lunch. Return to the barn in the afternoon for tea to review the results.
Join us at Ingleborough Cave in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park for one of our unique evening photography sessions. These are designed for those wanting to spend time in Ingleborough Cave taking photographs and getting to grips with the unique and challenging photographic conditions underground. Please note that these sessions are not tutorials.
One of our local guides will lead you as you follow in the footsteps of the early Victorian explorers on a journey spanning 350 million years of geology and history, and they will also point out some of the spectacular formations that you may later wish to photograph. You will then be left to photograph at your leisure, leaving plenty of time to get those killer shots.
The sessions last 3 hours and 45 minutes, and the meeting time is specified next to the dates below. The first 30 minutes will be spent on a tour with one of our local guides, then you are free to photograph at your leisure. If you do not wish to use the full time allocation this isn’t a problem, you can leave when you have finished. Please meet at Ingleborough Cave at the appropriate time (27th April – 16:45, 25th May – 16:45, 8th June – 16:45, 22nd June – 15:45, 13th July – 15:45, 27th July – 15:45, 10th August – 16:45, 14th August – 16:45, 24th August – 16:45, 7th September – 15:45, 21st September – 15:45, 26th October – 15:45).
This session focusses on Bluebells and the Ingleborough Estate Nature Trail.
These sessions are designed to get you out of ‘automatic’ setting on your DSLR, giving you confidence to try various manual settings to photograph landscapes and close up. There’s a range of locations ideal for making the most of your camera, whether you are keen to learn about photographing country scenes, waterscapes or a unique natural cave setting. It’s an opportunity to get hands-on experience, chat about what you want to improve on, learn new skills and take shots using different settings to appreciate the difference it makes. All this takes place in safe, friendly environment.
