Nature Reserve.
This June, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust needs
YOU to help us survey the plants on
two important sites at the heart of the
National Nature Reserve. Whether you
are a botanical novice or seasoned expert,
come along to our FREE training days to
learn more about the wonderful plant life
that makes Ingleborough so special.
We are running this event as part of
Stories in Stone, an ambitious four year
programme of conservation and
community projects, all about promoting
and protecting the fantastic natural and
cultural heritage in your local area. The
scheme has been developed by the
Ingleborough Dales Landscape Partnership
and supported by the National Lottery
through the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Join Judith Allinson, botanical expert, and Kate
Yates, Living Landscapes Officer at Yorkshire
Wildlife Trust, for a day’s introduction to
identifying and recording the unique flora of
Southerscales. The course is open to everyone
from complete beginners to experienced
botanists.

Thursday 30th June, 10am – 3pm
On this second day, we will be given unique access to Southerscales settlement, a fascinating archaeological site on the western flank of Ingleborough. Very little is known about the flora there, so we will be putting our new found identification skills to the test as we conduct a botanical survey of this historically significant site.
