11km and 600m of climbing and descending out and back up the main bridleway from the Ingleton side of the mountain to catch the early morning sun (hopefully) and back in time for breakfast.
Date: Saturday 3rd June 2017 Time: Depart 5.30am (duration 1.5 – 2 hours)
Where: Meet in the icentre carpark, Backgate, Ingleton, LA6 3BT
Cost: Free – Donations to OGUG Booking: Email your name, mobile phone no., age and running experience to email@example.com Ability: This is a trip for mixed abilities under instruction of the leader and guides. If you can run 10km on the at you should be able to run-walk this although it is no walk in the park. The nal part of the climb includes three steep stone step sections with a rocky scramble to gain the summit. Descending these requires care especially if conditions are less than ideal. Children are welcome with a parent who can vouch for their ability. Equipment: This is a trip in a remote upland area which means that even in summer extra kit should be carried in addition to wearing a t-shirt, shorts and trainers with grippy soles. A spare long sleeve top, windproof jacket and head covering are minimum requirements. If the weather is ne we will linger on the summit for photos so additional clothing incl. leg covering, personal food and drink should be considered.
Thursday 3oth May 2019. Registration from 6.30pm with the race starting at 7:00. £4 entry fee.
