Reduce Energy use for your Business (Craven DC event) @ the i-Centre
Mar 31 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Businesses are invited to attend a free workshop to learn about becoming more resource efficient.

Resource efficiency brings significant environmental benefits as Craven aims to become net-zero carbon by 2030. It can help to:

  • Save your business money
  • Reduce your energy and water consumption, and waste disposal
  • Reduce your operating costs and increase resilience
  • Enhance your environmental performance
  • Improve your business image and open up new supply chain opportunities
  • Assist compliance with legal requirements
  • Increase your carbon savings

Investing in resource efficiency basics such as energy efficient lighting or improving recycling processes in your business can also be a first step to adopting circular economy business practices.

Jake Mason, of the Resource Efficient Business (REBiz) programme will provide advice for small or medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to become more resource efficient, and adopt circular business models and practices, helping businesses to keep products and materials in use, by design, for as long as possible to get the maximum value from them.

The REBiz programme provides the following support to businesses that predominantly sell B2B and can provide:

  • Free resource efficiency audits worth up to £1,200
  • 40% funding towards capital investment projects to a maximum £40,000 grant
  • Free circular economy consultancy of up to 30 days intensive support including: (a) Identification of opportunities and options appraisal; (b) Research and review of suitable process innovations and technologies; (c) Proof of concept; Stakeholder engagement; (d) Market research, development and testing; and (e) Business model review, development, and planning.

The event takes place on Thursday, 31 March 2022, from 10:00am – 12 noon, at the i-centre, Ingleton.

This workshop is part of a programme of events being held by Craven District Council with funding from the European Regional Development Fund to support the growth of local businesses by helping them sharpen their business skills and increase productivity.

REBiz is supported by the European Regional Development Fund and the Northern Powerhouse Growth Deal.
