A walk to ancient Oxenber and Wharfe Woods taking in classic limestone scenery with extensive views and wild woodland owers. We will discuss how the landscape came to be as it is and visit the mysterious Celtic Wall mentioned by Alfred Wainwright.

Special Instructions: This 6
mile (10km) walk starts at Little Stainforth and follows good paths to Feizor. After visiting Oxenber and Wharfe woods the return route runs below Smearsett Scar back to Little Stainforth. There are some stiles and some uneven ground but conditions underfoot are mainly good. There is one steep climb into Oxenber Wood. Sorry, no dogs.
