Saturday 13 June, 10am to 4pm
Day trip to Heysham & Heysham Head. Visit the ancient church of St Peter consecrated 967AD with Anglo-Saxon work and an outstanding example of a hogback stone, beautifully preserved, of high artistic quality, plus other relics in the graveyard. Then on to the headland with the ruins of St Patrick’s Chapel and the famous rock-cut graves overlooking the cove where, tradition has it, St Patrick landed. The 1993 excavation here revealed evidence of a Mesolithic site yielding over 1200 artefacts. Bring a picnic lunch.

Saturday 18 July, 1pm to 4pm
Yvonne Luke: Burial in the Hills: a walk through Pre-History between Feizor and Stackhouse. A moderate walk of c.4 miles. An optional tea afterwards at Elaine’s
