BOOKING ESSENTIAL.
With its extraordinary views, wonderful walks and dizzying heights, there is much to love about Ingleborough National Nature Reserve.
This June, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust needs YOU to help us survey the plants on two important sites at the heart of the National Nature Reserve. Whether you are a botanical novice or seasoned expert, come along to our FREE training days to learn more about the wonderful plant life that makes Ingleborough so special.
We are running this event as part of Stories in Stone, an ambitious four-year programme of conservation and community projects, all about promoting and protecting the fantastic natural and cultural heritage in your local area. The scheme has been developed by the Ingleborough Dales Landscape Partnership and supported by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Thursday 30th June, 10am – 3pm
On this second day, we will be given unique access to Southerscales settlement, a fascinating archaeological site on the western flank of Ingleborough. Very little is known about the flora there, so we will be putting our new found identification skills to the test as we conduct a botanical survey of this historically significant site.
