What’s On

Events in Ingleton are wide and varied with something to interest you throughout the year.

These include 1940’s Weekend, Overground Underground Festival, Ingleton Gala & Mountain Race, Sheafstock, and Folk Weekend.  Ingleton also hosts its very own cycle sportive, Escape to the Dales.

From family friendly to the more specialised, you’re bound to find something new to take part in.

Tutor Phil Bradley lives in NW Cumbria where he grows his own sustainable willow for basket-making, garden structures and also bird sculptures, all popular workshop topics. He has created some amazing structures and sculptures at RHS Harlow Carr and also takes commissions. www.philbradley.net 

The organic willow is included in the price and all the tools required will be provided. 

Phil will guide the group through all the processes to make sure that everyone masters the basic skills needed to craft their own piece of sculpture to take home at the end of the day.

Organic Willow is used & provided, as are all the tools required. The tutor is Phil Bradley who lives in NW Cumbria near Cockermouth where he grows a total of 37 different varieties of sustainable willow on several local sites. This is harvested once the leaves have dropped in early winter and the rods are then sorted and bundled together for storage in an unheated shed, ready for use in the following year.

The willow is used mainly for basket-making, but also for garden structures and sculptures as well as decorative animals, which is a popular one-day workshop topic.He has also created some amazing large-scale structures and sculptures at RHS Harlow Carr where he has been working for the past 15 years.

An introduction to what lies beneath the Yorkshire Dales. Exploring underground passages and learning about the cave environment.
The experienced cavers at Low Mill are very open and exible as to what they can offer and welcome you to contact them to say what you would like to get out of the day.
All technical equipment will be provided by Low Mill Outdoor Centre. Participants will need to bring a full change of clothes and wellies.

Learn to Climb at the Indoor Climbing wall. @ Inglesport Climbing Wall
May 1 @ 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Perfect for the absolute beginner to somebody that’s been climbing for years and wants to keep fit for the winter.
There is a qualified instructor on hand to help get everybody off the ground.
It’s £7.50 which includes Rock Shoes, Climbing Harness, Belay Device & Rope Hire.
It is run as a drop in session so call down to the Climbing Wall (up by the side of Langfords in the village centre) & stay an hour or stay for the full three hours. It’s up to you.
